What do I use MyElance Preferences for?

Elance has features that allow you to change the personalization of your account.

MyElance Preferences allows all members to do the following:

• Set your start page for when you login to the Elance site.
• Change your currency display.
• Change the Elance page you see when you login between the MyElance Main Menu or the Elance home page.
• Update your Elance email notifications or unsubscribe from notifications.
• For U.S. Buyers: Update your 1099 filing preference. If you opt in to the 1099 service, Elance will file the 1099 U.S. tax forms required for your projects in accordance with U.S. IRS guidelines.
• For U.S. Service Providers: Update your W9 information. If the buyer has requested Elance's 1099 service, you may need to submit your W9 information. (This will only apply if both the buyer and provider are based in the United States.)
• Add your billing address which is displayed on invoices and Escrow payment receipts.
  

To access your Preferences pages:

1. Login to the MyElance Main Menu.

If you are not logged in, enter your Elance username and password.

2. Expand the list on the left panel by clicking the More link.

3. Click the Preferences link.
